Marriage Enrichment

No, I am not married, but I did attend marriage enrichment. I was asked to play acoustic guitar and so I thought...what the heck, why not? This was my first mistake. Let's just say I made a few mistakes. After sound check and practice before the night started, Scott asked me if I turned my mike off. I decided to check so I kicked off my shoes and ran up onto stage. Little did I know that John and Patty were doing a live feed to all three rooms where everyone was sitting. So I just pranced around stage turning off all the mic's until I heard Jessica whisper/yell....KRISTA, KRISTA GET OFF THE STAGE!!! I quickly got off and afterwards John said I probably just wanted some extra camera time. Next, I went to get food in the youth room and so I got in line and asked Patty where to get my silverware at....she informed me I was at a table in the vida nueva room. SO, I headed over there and walked into a room of people with NO food....so I sat down and felt really dumb for having food but they told me to go ahead and eat. Then, I heard someone saying...hey you should go sit by Krista, and before i knew it I was dining next to Mike Hart who had three plates full of food.

Overally the music part went well and the rest...well, I just hope it goes smoother when I'm actually married and not a 17yr old attending marriage enrichment!! I'll just stick with friendship enrichment I think :)

Paintbrush, Pencil, and Play

These past days were hectic, but good. Yesterday I was up early and at Jenn's new house by 8am to help her paint. I was there all day!! I painted the living room(darci did the edges for me!) and I painted Jenn's bedroom all by myself! I left Jenn's about 9pm after a long, but rewarding day. This morning I was up at 6:30am getting ready for my ACT's. I have been dreading taking this test for a long time and today was the day. So, I showered, cooked myself breakfast, ate my vitamin and headed over to West High School to take my test. I tested from8-12:30 and I was glad to get out of there!!! I was then able to go to a movie with my family and tonight I attended a play that one of my friend's was the main actress in. Overall these last few days were great, just a bit exhausting. It is 10:35 and I can barely keep my eyes open, so I think it's time for bed!

Last night I went to peoria with my family and HiL to see Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and Louie Giglio in concert. It was a great time of worship. It started at 7:30 and ended at 10:30...so it was a late night getting home, but it was all worth it! I'd encourage you all to go if the tour's going to be around here again soon, it was just an indescribable experience!

Nap Time

I once hated taking naps. As a child, every Sunday afternoon the same words came from my mother or fathers mouth "Krista, its time to take a nap go lay down please" I would lay on my bed, upon my parents requests, and stare at the ceiling wondering what the point of this nap I had to take was. Years later, I finally understand this concept. Naps can be so good and refreshing for you! Last night I was up late and up early this morning and so what did I need this afternoon?? A nap. And it was great!! I slept for 2 hours and woke up refreshed and ready to go to the superbowl party. I'm glad my mom and dad instilled this need for Sunday afternoon naps! What a great concept!!
